Clothes For Kids Names New Executive Director
Clothes for Kids is pleased to announce the promotion of Joy Ingram to Executive Director. Ingram joined Clothes For Kids in 2010 as a contract fundraiser and in July 2011 became the Development Director. “Clothes For Kids has operated without an Executive Director since 2010 with the focus being on getting Clothes For Kids to a solid financial footing. Joy has accomplished this through her commitment to the vision of Clothes For Kids and diversified fundraising efforts.” Said Mark Cholvin, Clothes For Kids Board President.
In the past six years Clothes For Kids has doubled the number of students served and now serves 3,000 students annually. Since 1984 Clothes For Kids has provided low income students in the Edmonds School District with their school wardrobes. During the 2015/2016 school year Clothes For Kids served from Snohomish County and the Northshore School District.
Since 2010 Clothes For Kids has experienced a steady increase in revenue building it’s annual budget from $170,000 to $274,000 this year. “The board is working strategically to identify areas of need and ways for us to increase our resources and therefore our service” said Mark Cholvin. “We believe that Joy is the right person to move Clothes For Kids forward in our vision to Empower Students For Success One Wardrobe at a Time.”
Joy Ingram has worked in non-profit development for more than 20 years focusing her career on serving the youth of our community. “I truly believe that it is essential for a community to embrace and support the future by supporting children. The impact of good quality school clothing is unmeasurable and can change the life of a child” said Ingram. Ingram was recently nominated for and is a finalist for the Snohomish County Emerging Leaders Award
